Federation of Small Businesses (NI)

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is a UK-based membership organisation that represents and supports small businesses and the self-employed.

Here are the key points about it:

  • Purpose: To give small businesses a collective voice, lobbying government and policymakers on issues that affect them (e.g., taxation, regulation, late payments, access to finance).

  • Membership: Open to small business owners, freelancers, and self-employed individuals.

  • Services & Benefits:

    • Legal and financial advice.

    • Insurance and protection packages.

    • Networking opportunities.

    • Training and business resources.

    • Discounts on business essentials (banking, energy, etc.).

  • Advocacy Role: The FSB regularly campaigns on behalf of its members to improve conditions for small businesses in the UK, such as reducing business rates, supporting digitalisation, and ensuring fair trade practices.

In short: the FSB is both a lobbying group (representing small businesses in political and policy discussions) and a support organisation (offering practical services and benefits to members).

Business Advice Clinics (Scheduled for November 2025). Attendees at these clinics will have the chance to hear about available support and to access valuable resources and support from partners such as councils, colleges, and economic development agencies.
